KYT built for Kenyan compliance teams

Real-time monitoring

Risk rules tuned for Kenya

Flag the local typologies that matter: structuring, mule accounts, rapid in-and-out, and unusual payout patterns.

Alerts & a review queue

Route flagged transactions to a case queue your compliance team can review, action and evidence — with an audit trail.

KYT linked to identity

Tie transactions back to verified identities and AML/PEP screening, so you know who is behind the money, not just the amount.

Why we’re building it

We already verify identities and businesses and run AML, sanctions and PEP screening. Transaction monitoring is the next layer — watching how money actually moves so risk is caught in the flow, not after the fact. It’s in active development, and we’re shaping it with early partners.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is transaction monitoring?

Transaction monitoring is the ongoing review of payments — collections and payouts — to detect suspicious activity such as fraud or money laundering. Rules and risk scoring watch each transaction, and anything unusual is flagged for a compliance team to review.

What is KYT (Know Your Transaction)?

KYT, or Know Your Transaction, is the transaction-level companion to KYC. Where KYC verifies who a customer is, KYT watches how money actually moves through their account and links that behaviour back to a verified identity and risk profile.

Which rails will you monitor?

The focus is Kenya’s money rails — M-Pesa, PesaLink and Airtel Money — covering both collections (money in) and payouts (money out), since that is where most risk shows up for Kenyan fintechs, SACCOs and lenders.

Is it available now?

Transaction monitoring is in active development and we are building it with early partners. It is not yet generally available — join the early-access group to help shape it and get first access when it launches.

How would it connect to our systems?

The plan is to fit around how you already move money — through our API and webhooks, and settlement or statement data — so monitoring runs alongside your existing collections and payouts without replumbing them. Tell us your setup and we’ll factor it into the design.
